The Window
A little girl sits by her window, looking out. What does she see? Many different glimpses of her past. She watches as the many memories play out, leaving her emotionally raw and drained. She watches herself build up the most amazing wall, brick by brick, surrounding all sides of her. She sobs furiously, vowing never to let another person in, never letting the hurt drown her again. She watches through the window as the little girl grows older, and learns to defend her brick fortress. People get close, but never get in. The little girl watches as she grows into a woman, and sees that though life is filled with so much hurt and pain, life is worth living, and without pain, one can't live. She watches the woman start to tear down the wall, brick by brick, as she meets the love of her life. He fills her heart with so much love, and teaches her about unconditional love. He loves the woman for everything she represents, and for every aspect of her. He loves her child as his own, and shows the young boy what it means to be a man. The little girl watches as the wall finally falls, and the woman collapses, exhausted, but not defeated. The little girl isn't looking in a window, but a mirror, and she isn't a little girl, she's me.

The Book of Life
Life is never what it seems, it is the most complex story book that most people don't ever read--they just focus on the pretty pictures. Once we learn to read the book of life and understand everyone's personal stories, we learn to understand what life really is.
